Vaccine for Mpox ?
Approved Vaccines :
- Jynneos (IMVANEX) by Bavarian Nordic: This is the only mpox vaccine approved by the European Medicines Agency (EMA) and the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA). It is currently licensed for use in adults aged 18 and over.
- LC16 by KM Biologics: This vaccine has been authorized for emergency use in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) and Nigeria

Availability:
The NHS mpox outbreak vaccination programme ended in July 2023, but the WHO’s declaration may lead to renewed efforts to distribute vaccines. The European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control (ECDC) has advised travellers to consider vaccination against mpox if they will be visiting affected areas in Africa.
Recommendations:
- The CDC recommends vaccination for people who have been exposed to mpox and those who may be more likely to get mpox.
- The NHS advises men who are gay, bisexual, or have sex with other men to get vaccinated.16 – Link to NHS
